Welcome to this charming and spacious cottage – the perfect base for your next getaway. With three lovely bedrooms, plenty of living space, and great access to transport links like the A1 and A167, it’s ideal for family holidays, short breaks or longer stays.
You’ll be spoilt for choice when it comes to food! Just a short stroll away are family favourites like KFC, Burger King, Domino’s, McDonald’s, Subway and Greggs – sure to keep both kids and grown-ups happy. Coffee lovers can grab their favourite brew from Costa or Starbucks nearby, and if you’re feeling active, there’s even a gym close at hand.
The cottage is perfectly placed for exploring Durham’s top attractions, including the stunning Cathedral and Castle, the peaceful Botanical Gardens, and the riverside where you can hire rowing boats and then unwind at one of the local bars. For family fun or rainy day entertainment, Lane 7 bowling alley and the Odeon Luxe Cinema are popular picks among our guests, as are the many bars and restaurants in the city.
Just a mile or so away, Spennymoor offers four supermarkets, a leisure centre with a swimming pool, plus pubs and dining spots to explore. Or if you’re after a quieter evening, the Pub and Kitchen in nearby Cassop is a great-value local favourite – ideal for a relaxing meal away from the city bustle.
Inside the Cottage
Step into the cosy lounge, complete with a flatscreen TV, two large sofas, a coffee table, and a lovely log burner for those chillier evenings. The well-equipped kitchen has everything you need during your stay – including utensils, a toaster, microwave, washing machine, fridge, freezer, and a dining area for four. A door from the kitchen leads out to the private outdoor space.
The cottage features two double bedrooms and one twin room, each with plenty of storage space. The twin room also includes a handy desk that can double as a dressing table or workspace if needed.
The family bathroom offers both a bath and a separate shower, giving you options for a quick refresh or a relaxing soak.
Outdoor Space
The enclosed garden is a real highlight – complete with a hot tub big enough for everyone and a selection of outdoor furniture, perfect for summer evenings and unwinding after a day exploring.
There’s ample off-street parking available, and we happily welcome up to two well-behaved pets (please note a £25 charge per pet, per stay).
